End of an “era” – Manny is essentially gone!

As “eras” go the last 2 1/2 seasons of Manny Ramirez with the Dodgers would hardly compare with his years in Boston or even Cleveland for that matter. Excluding the 50 or so games that Manny played with the club to close out the 2008 season, our Manny experience has been less than awe inspiring.
And so here we stand on the day after the Dodgers place the perennial all-star slugger on waivers and nary a tear is shed in Dodgertown. The oft-injured left fielder is a mere shadow of his old glorious form.
Surely some team looking to add depth to a weak lineup will claim him off of waivers and so goes the game…Old stars hangin on for one last payday. One last shot at glory. One last chance to prove everybody wrong.
Thank you Manny for the good times. Wishing you well in the years ahead.
