3 Games Left to reach .500

October 1, 2010 Gary Bowles

The 2010 season has been a dismal failure for the once proud Los Angeles Dodgers. It it so fitting that the sports page headlines are filled more with divorce trial of the Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt than what the team is doing on the field.

Quite frankly the divorce trial is much more compelling, what with the team struggling just to finish the season on even ground. Heading into the final 3 game series of the season, the Dodgers need a sweep just to finish at .500.

The same team that finish the last two seasons just games from the World Series has thus far given the fans little to cheer about. What does this say for the 2011 season? Is there any hope that glory will return any time soon.

Don Mattingly takes over the reigns as manager in 2011. A choice that many think was and is not the right one. Many fans and I’m sure some within the organization believe the choice should have been AAA manager Tim Wallach. Only time will tell.

For now all we can do is hope for a sweep and salvage that oh so coveted .500 record.

This will be our final post on the Dodgers 2010 season. What more needs to be said…

See you in 2010,

Gary B.
